Catalysts for Local Control – Mission Statement
Who We Are
We are a statewide coalition of current and former elected officials, community leaders, donors, volunteers, and advocates committed to expanding access to responsible charitable programs and supporting strong local policy around giving.
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate, engage, and empower constituents to participate in local, regional, and state decisions that shape donation standards, community support programs, transparency requirements, and public trust in charitable work.
Our Goals
We support legislation and policy that:
Ensures legal, safe, and accessible pathways for individuals to donate resources to verified charitable organizations.
Promotes donor confidence, including accurate reporting, financial transparency, and protections against fraudulent or misleading fundraising.
Encourages transparent data, credible research, and evidence based decision making in discussions about charitable policy and community support.
Preserves local control so communities can set clear rules for fundraising, age restrictions for volunteer work, responsible collection practices, and compliance standards.
Protects donors from unregulated fundraising, unsafe financial practices, and misleading claims by supporting accountability and verified organizations.
